Two hours of sewing therapy😊 on a Saturday morning at Pineapple Palace Thatcham.
5 lovely students getting to grips with a sewing machine, some for the first time!
By the end of the session they had all made a beautiful lavender eye pillow.
Here they are looking very pleased with themselves and so you should be ladies. Well Done!
We adapted the ‘Childs Festive Skirt Workshop’ as Jacqui wanted to make a skirt
which could be worn outside the festive season. The pattern we used was the same but Jacqui used a lovely soft babycord and a rick rack trim. The result was a very stylish and unique skirt which I’m sure her granddaughter will love.
A productive mornings work. Here is Jacqui with her finished samples. Run and Fell seams, French seams, Open seams, Bound seams and more. Taped hem, Catch stitch hem, Bound edges, Lace trim, Bias trimmed edge. All of these finishing techniques can be used to give your dressmaking a more professional touch and enable you to be more creative. I will be running this class again in 2016
A morning spent with two lovely young girls who made these beautiful cushion covers. I did suggest we could do some hand sewing to embellish their designs but the sewing machines were a big hit. After some practice on paper without threading the machine up, they were soon stitching with amazing control. Hand stitching is just toooooooo…… slow! However they did manage some tacking. Maybe the pleasure of embroidery is something that comes with age!
